Angela and Aaron Engagement Session

Angela and Aaron are getting married! And they want me to photograph their wedding!
YAY my first wedding to officially photograph!
We met up down town to take some pics and Aaron suggested that we take some pics in their back yard so we did. I was excited to find an amazing tree swing when we got there. I like when people make suggestions like that. It makes the photos more sentimental for the couple and people are generally more comfortable on their on turf and it shows in the pics.

Digital Imaging I - Recycled Fashions

Digital Imaging I - Recycled Fashions

I love the Alice in Wonderland shoots but I was so worried that my photos would be dismissed in class because they were not "fashion-y" enough so here goes shoot #3 for the same assignment. I had spoke to my teacher last semester about doing a "recycled" fashion shoot, where I would take items that would normally get tossed or sent to the recycling center and make outfits out of them as a photo shoot assignment. I probably got the idea after watching Project Runway. (God I love that show!) He really liked the idea so I figured he wouldn't mind me doing it now.

The model is a classmate, the ever tiny Lee Ann aka Lolly.

The first outfit that Lolly is dressed in is a skirt made of packing paper and a top made out of foam. (The thin foam sheets that is used to protect monitors and TV screens.) The stockings are regular stockings for modesty and the shoes are true vintage out of my mom's closet. ;)

The second outfit is made out of foil and rubber. The top and skirt lining is made out of used and rinsed aluminum foil. The skirt is some extra shelf liner I had laying around and the belt is the strap off out a broken flashlight that you strap to your head. You know, it's a head light kinda like miners wear. All of these items I saved as they were on their way to the trash. We used the same stockings and shoes from my closet.
I have more of these to post but I'm not done editing them so here's a peek.

Digital Imaging I - Alice Killing Time

Digital Imaging I - Alice in Wonderland Project - Take II

I focused more on the "dark" part of the assignment and had Alice murder the plush white rabbit. I thought it shows the strange Reality vs. Imagination vision that the movies project. I could see this in a magazine, I guess it would just depend on the type of magazine. The teacher didn't say it had to be a Vogue fashion shoot.

Kali was a first time model but you would never have known it. She was perfect on set and perfect for the part! These were some of my favs.
I would also like to give a shout out to my ever-attractive beau for mixing up the batch of blood and helping us apply it.

Digital Imaging I - Tea Party

Digital Imaging I - Alice in Wonderland Project

The assignment was to create and photograph a dark, moody Alice in Wonderland Fashion shoot.

I kinda lost sight of the "fashion" part and shot more of a "storybook" style. I had to re-shoot before I turned in the assignment to create a more magazine style fashion shoot but I wanted to share these with you. I had the perfect models for the cast of the tea party. Summer was Alice, Reed was the Mad Hatter, Hank was the March Hare and the Cheshire Cat was my kitty Champ Goldentoes.

My First Ever Post on My First Ever Blog!

I wanted to start off this blog with my first post being one of my favorite shoots. Darla has a natural beauty. I fell in love with her freckles!

She had just woke up from a nap when I arrived so I snapped some shots of the after nap cig.
Turned out to be one of my favs.
